XCold Weather Advisory issued January 20 at 3:51AM EST until January 20 at 10:00PM EST by NWS Marquette MI

* WHAT...For the Cold Weather Advisory, very cold temperatures as
low as 33 below. For the Extreme Cold Warning, dangerously cold
temperatures as low as 40 below expected.

* WHERE...Ontonagon, Baraga, Marquette, Dickinson, Menominee,
Delta and Southern Houghton Counties.

* WHEN...For the Cold Weather Advisory, until 10 PM EST /9 PM
CST/ this evening. For the Extreme Cold Warning, from 10 PM
EST /9 PM CST/ this evening to 1 PM EST /noon CST/ Tuesday.

* IMPACTS...Frostbite and hypothermia are likely if exposed to
these temperatures. An extended period of freezing
temperatures could cause ruptured water pipes.

Wear protective clothing such as a hat, facemask and heavy gloves
or mittens if you have plans to be outdoors. To prevent freezing
and possible bursting of outdoor water pipes they should be
wrapped, drained, or allowed to drip slowly. Those that have in-
ground sprinkler systems should drain them and cover above-ground
pipes to protect them from freezing.
